Network and Advocacy
Among the objectives of the Center is to create a broad network of support for workers in their struggle for basic rights, which include fair labor practices and humane wages. It builds a network with labour organizations at the local, regional, national and international levels in aid of forming Human Rights Committees and helps organize strengthen the National Coalition for the Protection of Workers Rights, an alliance of artists, religious, academics and other people concerned with upholding the rights of workers.
At the international level, the Center aims to create a network in pursuit of broader promotion and protection of workers’ trade union and human rights.
International Labor and Solidarity Mission – Philippines
As part of its campaign against the intensifying attacks on the trade union movement and the worsening labor and human rights situation in the country, the Center for Trade Union and Human Rights, along with co-convenors Ecumenical Institute for Labor Education and Research (EILER) and Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) convened and organized the INTERNATIONAL LABOR SOLIDARITY MISSION. Delegates from different parts of the world will participate in fact-finding missions in areas struck by trade union and human rights violations, as well as solidarity activities with the victims.
