CTUHR marked its 40th anniversary on October 9, 2024. The Center was found in 1984, during the dark era of the Marcos Sr. regime. CTUHR emerged in response to the worsening violations of workers’ rights under the dictatorship. For four decades, it has been committed to supporting the workers’ movement by monitoring and documenting human rights abuses against workers and unionists, while also providing education, training, and research to bolster advocacy campaigns.
