Together with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and the Ecumenical Institute for Labor Education and Research (EILER), we conducted a forum on Labor Issues, Prospects under the Marcos Jr. Administration on July 21, 2022 at the CHR Pardec Rooms A&B, a few days before the 1st State of the Nation Address (SONA) of BBM.
More than a hundred participants attended the event, coming from different unions, labor groups and institutions. After a comprehensive discussion from EILER and CTUHR on the state of labor rights in the country, leaders of 3 of the major labor groups shared their insights and prospects under the new administration. Interesting questions were raised, such as how do these groups plan to unite against the looming challenges under Marcos Jr.
