The Rosales couple were both long-time organizers of COURAGE. They were arrested at around 7:00 in the evening in Balagtas,  Bulacan on August 11, 2018 as they were going home from their used clothing business in the  town’s marketplace. Several vehicles carrying plainclothes policemen blocked their tricycle, arrested them and brought them to the CIDG detention facility in Camp Crame Quezon City. They are currently detained at the Camp Bagong Diwa jail facility in Taguig City. Both were charged with illegal possession  of firearms and explosives. Rowena was also charged with arson and attempted murder related to an NPA attack in Agusan del Norte while Oliver was charged with homicide which allegedly happened in Caloocan City. Their daughter Kalayaan Rosales submitted a letter of appeal for the couple’s release to Chief Justice Diosdado M.  Peralta on April 13, 2020.
