On October 15, 2018, long-standing labor activists Silva, Atadero and Lusania, together with two (2) companions, Calderon and Legaspi, were arrested in Pagsawitan, Sta, Cruz, Laguna. Silva was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant  in connection with the Inopacan massacre in Leyte Province, the legitimacy of the evidence for which has been questioned by many people’s lawyers. Meanwhile, his four companions  were charged with illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Calderon was released eight months after their arrest, but the remaining four members of what was called the Sta. Cruz 5, remain in detention at the Metro Manila District Jail Annex 4 (MMDJ-4) in Camp Bagong Diwa,  Bicutan, Taguig City.
